Academia School operates the https://www.academia-school.com/ website, which provides the SERVICE. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the https://www.academia-school.com website.
By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.
The site application and services include an online school for language learning where members, Students, and Tutors can take advantage of the services directly with each other. You have to understand that Academia School is not a part of the lessons agreements between Students and Tutors, nor is Academia an agent. Academia has no control over the conduct of students and Tutors and therefore disclaims all liability in this regard to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The Site, Application, and Services can be used to provide an online interaction between Students and Tutors; they can collaborate with each other and take advantage of Connection Services and Payment Services for language learning.
In order to access certain features of the Site and Application, and to participate in language learning Connection Services and Payment Services in Academia, you must register to create an account and become a Member. You may register to join directly via the Site or by Application.
Our Service allows you to post, link, store, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material. You are responsible for the content and it has to be for the lessons.
Teacher Registration and Service
Approval for Teaching
In order to become a “Teacher”, you must first submit a complete Teacher Application. Completed Teacher Applications are evaluated by Academia for approval. If your Teacher Application is approved, your member status will be changed to an “Instructor.” You will have the ability to create and manage a Teacher Profile on our Site. As a Teacher, you can begin providing “Teaching Services”.
Teaching Services Description
In order to provide lessons, Tutors must create a description of their Teaching Services on Academia.
If you choose to Become a member of our team us o Tutor, you understand and agree that your relationship with academia is limited to being a member and an independent teacher, and not an employee or agent of Academia for any reason but you are teaching for the benefit and behalf the Academia. Academia does not control or have the right to control but as a member you agree not to do anything to create a false impression that you are endorsed, or acting on behalf of your benefit, using any Academia property.
Payment, Fees and Refund Policy
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT, BY USING THE PAYMENT SERVICES, YOU ARE INDICATING THAT YOU HAVE READ, AND THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE PAYMENTS TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE PAYMENTS TERMS, THEN YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO ACCESS OR USE THE PAYMENT SERVICES.
Failure to use the Payment Services in accordance with these Payments Terms may subject you to civil and criminal penalties. If you accept or agree to these Payments Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that company or other legal entity to these Payments Terms and, in such event, “you” and “your” will refer and apply to that company or other legal entity.
All prices displayed publicly on Academia School .com are inclusive of all fees, Tutors and Academia Schools.
All lessons must be paid in advance. You choose whether you pay 10 lessons by a package of 15 or 20 lessons. Lessons must be completed within three months from the date of the payment.
All fees and transactions are in Euros unless otherwise agreed. Academia School is obliged to edit the student’s receipt only for the amount paid to Academia School. The remaining amount paid by the student for the lesson-package to the tutor is the tutors’ fee and Academia School has no entanglement to that.
The Payment Services are intended solely for persons who are 18 or older. Any use of the Payment Services by anyone under 18 is expressly prohibited. By using the Payment Services you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.
In order to use the Payment Services, you must first register to create an Account and become a Member. You acknowledge, consent and agree that anyone you authorize to use your Member Account may use the Payment Services on your behalf and that you will be responsible for any payments made by such person.
Reminders will be sent to both the Student and the Tutor when the expiration date of their package comes due. If there is no action taken by the Student of the Tutor, then all remaining lessons in the package will be completed.
All lessons bookings must be agreed in advance with Academia School. Your Tutor will confirm the date/dates and time of the lessons at least 24 hours in advance. You must confirm the date and time by answering the e-mail of your Tutor at least 24 hours in advance.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2014 (“Consumer Contracts Regulations”) you may cancel your purchase of a Course within a period of fourteen (7) calendar days (“Cancellation Period”) from the date of your purchase.
In addition to your rights, we also offer the following transfer policy for the Course (where there is no legal right to a refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulation 2014).
Where applicable, in exceptional circumstances students may be able to transfer to an alternative Tutor Group or Course. In the event that you are transferred to a later Tutor Group or a different Course, you will no longer have access to your original Study Area or Tutor Group and you may be required to pay a fee for the additional tutoring period required and any difference in course fees.
Transfers will be at the discretion of the Training Provider and are subject to availability and upon payment of any associated transfer fees. You may only transfer to a new Course or Tutor Group once.
Following any deferral by you, the Consumer Cancellation Period remains in effect with respect to the original Course Start Date as defined in the original Order.If you decide to terminate your course and will not attend the rest of the pre-ordered and/or pre-paid lessons, no refund will be made by Academia School.
Before the first lesson, you are required to properly install Skype or/and online platform on your computer. In order to be able to participate in our lessons, you have to create a Skype or/and online platform and add our teacher to your contact list
A broadband internet access is required to ensure the quality of the sound and the video. In case of slow internet connection (poor audio/video quality) our teacher may ask you to switch off the camera to achieve better audio quality.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is a material we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
Our standard channel for all complaints is through the “email email@example.com” Office hours are 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9.30am-4.30pm
Any complaints regarding any Credit Agreement that you may have entered into is governed by the Finance Providers complaints procedure. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of your Credit Agreement
